NZ Trucking Assn support vulnerable road users

The New Zealand Trucking Association, under the leadership of chief executive David Boyce is renown in the transport sector for its work in this country's road safety landscape.

Its Road Safety Truck is one investment it's made in raising awareness around 11 truck safety messages featured in the video above.  The interactive learning experience is designed for children to learn about blind spots, air turbulence and dangerous passing.

In 2024 NZ Trucking delivered again on behalf of community by including a two page write up in its October magazine.  It was outstanding support shown to a group of road users that had been on the receiving end of little to no road safety education in community.  The Pass Wide and Slow message, endorsed by NZ Police was supported by the trucking sector.

Fast forward to March 30, 2026 and New Zealand Trucking Association says "... it supports the work that the New Zealand Vulnerable Road User Charitable Trust is doing to raise driver awareness to Pass Wide and Slow, and to encourage a culture of patience and awareness on our roads towards vulnerable road users."  David Boyce, Chief executive.

Like David says, "Road Safety is a collective responsibility..." and it’s fantastic to see one heavy vehicle industry body showing leadership on behalf of all road users.

Thank you ...
